CONCORD, N.H. (CBS) — For the second year in a row, someone took a blade to an inflatable Saint Nick in New Hampshire.
The owner of the blow-up Santa Claus said that on Dec. 27 at about 4:30 a.m., a home surveillance camera captured a man slashing his front yard holiday decoration. The same thing happened last year at the Ridge Road address in Concord, according to police, prompting the owner to install the camera.
“This year I decided to get a camera with motion detection,” homeowner Bob Senko told WBZ. “I was hoping it wouldn’t come into play.”
In the video, a white male is seen walking from Ridge Road to the inflatable Santa.
“In this instance, the slash was over a foot in length and cut across the Santa’s body,” Concord police said. “He can then be seen making a swiping motion with his right hand, cutting Santa with a bladed instrument.”

“It’s just annoying,” Senko said. “It’s the antithesis of the spirit of the season.”
The man is shown wearing a winter hat, a light jacket and carrying a backpack. Police also say he appears to be wearing a “miner’s style headlamp” on his forehead.
“We’re concerned there could be some other issues there, was he out vandalizing, was he out stealing,” Concord Police Lt. Timothy O’Malley said.
Police are asking anyone who might know the man’s identity to call police.
