Thieves Steal Thousands Of Dollars In Booze From Boston's Red Hat Lounge

BOSTON (CBS) -- A bold crime was caught on surveillance camera at the Red Hat on Bowdoin Street in Boston.  Managers at the Red Hat say early Sunday morning two middle aged men vandalized their establishment.

"It was very bold. They starting taking the spray guns and spraying it everywhere and breaking bottles," assistant manager Larissa Audette said.

The two patrons apparently locked themselves in the bathroom on the second floor and waited for the bar to close for the night. "Then they opened every single one of the bar taps so it caused damage to floors drained ten taps stole about $6k worth of booze," Audette said.

The vandals never stole any money but they stole some portraits and caused plenty of damage.

"They stole t-shirts we sell, just trashed and ruined a lot. Then they sat down had a couple of cocktails for themselves," Audette said.

Then, as they were getting ready to leave, they loaded up a box worth of booze.  Now the owners of one of Boston's oldest bars is looking for help to catch these vandals.

"They walked out front door with booze and products they stole from us," Audette said.
