Fisherman Rescues Man Who Fell Through Ice In Hopedale

HOPEDALE (CBS) -- A man who fell through the ice in Hopedale Saturday morning is expected to be OK.

The 59-year-old man was skating on Hopedale Pond, when he broke through the ice and fell in.

A fisherman was nearby and pulled him out quickly.

The man, whose name has not been released, was taken to the hospital.

"This morning a skater fell through the ice on Hopedale pond," Hopedale fire and EMS said in a Twitter post. "This is a reminder that there is no 'safe' ice!"
