6 Boston-Area Employers Named 'Best Places To Work' In 2015
BOSTON (CBS) -- Six Boston-area employers have made the list of the top 50 places to work, according to a new ranking.
Glassdoor, a website where employees can review their companies, released its 'Best Places To Work' list for 2015 on Wednesday.
Global consulting firm Bain & Company landed at No. 2 on the list, and the other ranked local companies were Boston Consulting Group at No. 5, Brigham and Women's Hospital at No. 12, computer software company MathWorks at No. 19, Massachusetts General Hospital at No. 28, and Bose at No. 46.
The Boston area had the second-highest number of best places to work across the nation, behind only the San Francisco Bay Area, according to Glassdoor.
"Boston's doing quite well," Glassdoor career trends analyst Scott Dobroski told WBZ NewsRadio 1030.
Dobroski said common themes shared by highly rated companies include a values-driven and mission-driven culture.
"Employees really feel like they know where the short-term and long-term direction of the company is headed," he said. "They feel they work for companies with great career opportunities, and of course they talk about great benefits and perks."
Some of those perks can include working from home, flexible schedules, free food in the office and even ping-pong.
"Bain & Company has a great ping-pong table, even some video games at various offices," Dobroski said.
