BRIDGEWATER (CBS) – A teenager with relatives in the Bridgewater police and fire departments was killed Wednesday morning in a one-car crash.

Bridgewater police were called to Aldrich Road at the intersection of Princess Pine at about 11:30 a.m..

First responders found a 2001 Chevy Impala that appeared to have lost control while driving around a curve in the road, hitting a tree with the passenger side of the car.

Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to remove the driver of the car. He was treated at the scene for serious injuries and was transported to Brockton Hospital, where he eventually died as a result of the crash.

On Wednesday afternoon police identified the driver of the car as 18-year-old Paul Chuilli Jr. of West Bridgewater.

Chuilli was the son of a Bridgewater firefighter, and the stepson of a Bridgewater police department member.

The crash remains under investigation.
