Police: NH Man Clocked Driving 126 MPH Runs From Arresting Officers
NASHUA, N.H. (CBS) – New Hampshire State Police arrested a Nashua man allegedly clocked driving 100 MPH who tried to run from officers when they caught up with him at his home.
State police said a construction detail officer on Interstate 93 in Windham saw Frederick Dehner, 41, of Nashua, N.H., driving south at a high rate of speed on Wednesday at about 7:20 a.m.
An officer caught up with Dehner near Exit 3, clocking a top speed of 126 MPH near the Massachusetts state line.
Police said the trooper was able to identify Dehner's car as a 2013 Hyundai Sonata, but called off the short pursuit because of commuter traffic and poor weather conditions.
Officers determined the car was a rental and identified Dehner as the person who had rented the vehicle.
Dehner admitted to the incident when found at his Nashua home, police said, and when told he was under arrest Dehner attempted to run.
After the the failed attempt to run from police, Dehner was arrested and charged with felony reckless conduct, reckless driving, disobeying an officer and resisting arrest.
According to state police, Dehner refused the services of a bail commissioner. He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Salem District Court.
