Mail Thieves Hit Needham Condo Complex

NEEDHAM (CBS) - It's something Yuriy Gerzon has done for years at his Needham condo, put his outgoing mail in the entrance for the postal carrier.

Gerzon says, "No one is counting on anyone but mailman coming in here to take the mail."

But on Monday night, Yuriy's packages disappeared.

Curious what happened, he went to the condo office and they called up the surveillance video. Suddenly, the mystery was solved. You can see a man, come in and swipe them.

The closer they looked at all the tapes from all the buildings in the complex, they realized it wasn't just the man in Yuriy's building, but two men, and they hit six entrances.

And the timing couldn't be worse.

He says, "It's the holidays people are receiving expensive things after Black Friday."

But these were caught on camera. You can see both of their faces on the surveillance tape, Yuriy hopes it's the mistake that will catch them before they strike again.

He says, "Big time bummer not something you want to deal with this time of year. You kind of expect best from people you don't always get it in this case."

Needham police are investigating and tell Yuriy they don't know who the men are, but are sending out the video to other police departments.
