Wayland Police Seek Suspect For 'Distracted Burglary' Attempts

WAYLAND (CBS) – Police in Wayland are searching for a man they believe is behind attempted burglaries that involve an attempt to distract the homeowner.

Wayland police released a sketch of a man who they are looking for in several break-in attempts.

According to police, there were two reported incidents in Wayland and another in Lincoln on December 1.

During the break-in attempts, the suspect knocks on a home's door. He then waits for the homeowner, and convinces them to come outside and look at alleged work that needs to be done on the property.

While the first suspect distracts the resident, another person enters the home.

Wayland police said they are still trying to determine if anything was stolen from the homes.
