Packers' Clinton-Dix Learns Not To Hit Gronk Up High

BOSTON (CBS) -- Green Bay Packers rookie Ha Ha Clinton-Dix found out the hard way that trying to tackle Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is no laughing matter.

The rookie safety was one of five Packers who tried to bring Gronkowski down on a third down reception in the second quarter of Sunday's 26-21 Green Bay win. Clinton-Dix's attempt came in the middle of the field after a pair of Packers had already tried to bring down New England's behemoth of a tight end, and the rookie took what looked like the biggest hit of any Green Bay defender on the play.

Come late Monday night he was still sore from his attempt and Tweeted out the following message:

He learned what many defenders have known for some time: It's next to impossible to bring down the 6-foot-6, 265-pound Gronkowski, and usually attempting to do so -- especially up high -- will cause a lot more pain than glory.

Consider Monday's soreness just part of the lesson learned by the rookie.

Gronkowski finished Sunday's game with seven receptions for 98 yards on 12 targets.
