Maine Police Arrest Boston Man With 41 Pounds Of Marijuana

BOSTON (CBS) – Maine police arrested a Boston man who was allegedly caught driving with a trunk full of marijuana.

Police in Auburn, Maine, arrested Oleg Spektorov, 29, of Boston, on Saturday at about 8:45 p.m. after officers said he was driving with tail lights that were not working.

Officers also said they detected the "overwhelming odor of marijuana" coming from the car.

After searching Spektorov's car, police found 41.6 pounds of marijuana inside. Police seized a small amount of hashish oil and items used to manufacture it.

Spektorov told officers that he is a medical marijuana caregiver, police said.

Spektorov was arrested and charged with aggravatged trafficking in scheduled drugs, a Class B felony. He was also charged with misdemeanor unlawful possession of a Schedule X drug.

The Boston resident was released on $25,000 cash bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on December 30.
