17 Bruins To Participate In 'Movember'

BOSTON (CBS) -- Consider this a potential warm-up for the Boston Bruins and their playoff beards.

In an effort to help raise awareness for men's health, 17 members of the Bruins will participate in the "Movember" movement and grow moustaches during the month of November.

Patrice Bergeron will serve as "Movember Team Captain," with teammates Matt Bartkowski, Gregory Campbell, Zdeno Chara, Loui Eriksson, Matt Fraser, Seth Griffith, Dougie Hamilton, Chris Kelly, David Krejci, Milan Lucic, Brad Marchand, Adam McQuaid, Kevan Miller, Joe Morrow, Dennis Seidenberg, and David Warsofsky all joining in and supporting the cause.

The Bruins are asking fans to donate to their favorite player's mo fund, and for those who want to get in on the fun, to join the Bruins Movember team and raise funds for their chance to win autographed items and tickets to upcoming Bruins games during November. Those who raise at least $10 this week for the Bruins Movember team will be entered to win a pair of tickets to see Thursday night's game against the Edmonton Oilers.

The Bruins will also host an Awareness Night at TD Garden on November 24, 2014 when they face-off against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

"Movember" has become a global charity that raises awareness for men's health, and has raised over $559 million since 2003.
