Lowell Police Investigating Man Showering Singer Ariana Grande With Gifts

LOWELL (CBS) – Representatives for pop singer Ariana Grande are asking Lowell police to stop a man who they say is harassing the popular celebrity.

Lowell police said they were contacted about a week ago by legal representatives for Grande who said a 29-year-old Lowell man had been repeatedly sending the singer gifts despite being asked not to.

Entertainment website TMZ reported that the Lowell resident's gifts included a 42.5-pound pumpkin, a rock from the White Mountains in New Hampshire and a three-piece mirror set from K-Mart.

In addition, Lowell police said the man had an encounter in New York City during which he attempted to approach Grande to give her something, but was turned away.

The man was interviewed by Lowell police and warned that if he does not stop sending gifts to Grande he will be charged with harassment.

No charges have been filed against the man, though Lowell police say the investigation is ongoing.
