Public Tribute To Mayor Menino Continues Saturday At City Hall

BOSTON (CBS) – Massachusetts residents continue to mourn the loss of former Boston Mayor Tom Menino, who died on Thursday following a battle with cancer.

City Hall will be open until 6 p.m. on Saturday for members of the public to pay their respects to Menino, who was the longest serving mayor in Boston. Menino died at 71 years old.

In addition, City Hall will remain open on Sunday during a public ceremony while Menino lies in state.

Menino will lie in state at Faneuil Hall beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday.

A mass at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross at 1400 Washington Street in Boston will be held for the public to honor Menino on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.

A private funeral for Menino is scheduled for Monday at 12 p.m. at Most precious Blood Parish in Hyde Park.

The procession to the church will begin at Faneuil Hall and pass by several locations, such as City Hall, Fenway Park, Roslindale Square, and others.
