Dave Richard: With Ridley Sidelined, Look For Bolden To Take Those Snaps

BOSTON (CBS) - With Stevan Ridley and Jerod Mayo of the Patriots sidelined for the rest of the year due to injury, fans in New England keep arguing over who is more important.

However, there's no question that losing a running back of Ridley's caliber can be crippling to a fantasy team at this point in the season.

CBS Sports fantasy football guru Dave Richard came on 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich Thursday morning to provide his expert advice, starting with what to do with the Stevan Ridley situation.

"We don't know for sure. It's always like the FBI when you're trying to figure out the Patriots offense. You've got to figure that Brandon Bolden will get the first crack to replace Ridley as the running back, and I wouldn't rule out James White getting in there too. You might see both of them, but Bolden would be the first name I would go for."

Aside from Bolden, and possibly White, Richard is not seeing much of anything else.

"There really isn't a lot out there on the waiver wire for running back. You've got Antone Smith in Atlanta who's very deserving of a chance, but I don't know how many opportunities he's gonna get. I'll give you two other running backs, although I don't know how they'll do against Seattle this week: Benny Cunningham and Tre Mason. Zac Stacy has looked terrible, and apparently he has an ankle injury. I could see the Rams making a change there."

Afterwards, Richard fielded some calls from the listeners, who asked about everyone from Eddie Lacy and Percy Harvin to Kelvin Benjamin and Mohamed Sanu.
