Wednesday's Child: 11 Year-Old Frantzdy

BOSTON (CBS) - Frantzdy is an 11-year-old boy of Haitian descent. He prefers to be called Randy as he says it is easier for people to pronounce. Frantzdy is described as having an endearing personality with those who know him well. He asks inquisitive questions and likes to learn new things. He is engaging and enjoys having fun.

Frantzdy enjoys playing sports of all kinds. He has played hockey, baseball, flag-football, soccer, and would like to play football in the future. He has dreams of being a professional football player one day. Currently, his favorite football team is the Seahawks.

Frantzdy is in the fifth grade, where he benefits from an Individualized Educational Plan. Frantzdy takes instructions well, and he is concerned with how he does academically. Frantzdy performs closely to grade level in his school work. He loves to learn about earth science and natural disasters. Frantzdy can be shy at first but once you get to know him he is talkative.

Frantzdy would do best in a family where he can be the youngest child. He needs a family which will provide him love and nurturing to help him thrive. Frantzdy would like a family that is active and will allow him to be involved in sports.  Frantzdy will need to remain connected with his birth father through pictures and letters in the years to come.

To learn more about Frantzdy, and about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit www.MAREinc.org. The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have "a permanent place to call HOME."
