Arlington Police Seek Suspect In Indecent Assault

ARLINGTON (CBS) – Police in Arlington are asking for the public's help in identifying a man wanted for an alleged indecent assault that took place earlier this week.

A victim told police that they were walking in the area of the Minuteman Bikeway near the intersection of Summer and Mill Streets on Wednesday around 10:30 p.m.

Police said a man walked up behind the victim, grabbed them by the arms and assaulted them.

"The victim was approached by the attacker from behind, grabbed by the arms," Police Capt. Richard Flynn said. "The victim was able to struggle, create some separation and get away."

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic man in his 30s or 40s, possibly older, with an average build.

According to the victim, the man has short black hair, a thin mustache, and was wearing a leather jacket and blue jeans. The suspect smelled like alcohol at the time of the attack, the victim told police.

"I thought it was a safe place, but I guess you never know," one female jogger on the bike path told WBZ-TV on Friday.

Anyone who may recognize the suspect in the sketch is asked to call Arlington police (781) 643-1212 or contact inspector Brian Fennelly at (781) 316-3918.
