Wednesday's Child: 12-Year-Old Sandra

BOSTON (CBS) - Sandra is a beautiful and sweet 12-year-old girl of Hispanic descent. Sandra has a passion for singing and will sing anywhere from the chorus at school to car rides. Not shy in the slightest, she even sang the national anthem in front of a large crowd at a sporting event. Sandra likes many different types of music but has a preference for pop. Her favorite singer at the moment is Ariana Grande. Sandra is in the sixth grade where she enjoys school and socializing with friends. In her free time, she loves to dance, listen to music, and perform. She also has typical pre-teen girl interests, such as doing her hair and makeup.

Legally freed for adoption, Sandra would do best in a two-parent home with at least one female parent or with a single female. Sandra's social worker feels she really needs a solid mother figure in her life. Sandra currently has younger children in her foster home and does fine with them. However, her social worker feels that she would do best with children who are older or a family with no children in the home. She would thrive being the youngest in a family and get a lot of individualized attention. Sandra would like to remain in contact with her birth mother post-adoption

To learn more about Sandra, and about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit www.MAREinc.org. The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have "a permanent place to call HOME."
