Patriots Injury Report: Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski Listed As Questionable
BOSTON (CBS) -- Tom Brady put quite a scare into New England when he missed practice on Thursday due to a previously unreported calf injury, but fear not: The quarterback is heading to Miami.
However, there still will remain some doubt as to whether Brady will play, as he was officially listed as questionable.
The other big name on the injury report for the Patriots was tight end Rob Gronkowski, who was likewise listed as questionable.
According to the NFL's standards, a player listed as questionable has a 50-50 chance of playing. It's a step up from doubtful (25 percent chance) and a step below probable (very likely).
Since becoming the starting quarterback in 2001, Brady has only missed time due to his torn ACL in 2008.
Brady expressed confidence in his playing status on Thursday night, saying "I'll be ready to go Sunday. ... I'm looking forward to playing Sunday."
The complete injury report is below:
New England Patriots
OUT: Michael Buchanan (ankle), Chris Jones (ankle)
QUESTIONABLE: Tom Brady (calf), Rob Gronkowski (knee), Sealver Siliga (hand)
Miami Dolphins
OUT: Terrence Fede (knee), Mike Pouncey (hip), Jordan Tripp (chest)
DOUBTFUL: Billy Turner
PROBABLE: Walt Aikens, Chris McCain, Koa Misi, Jamar Taylor
The Patriots and Dolphins kick off their seasons at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
