Two Arrested In Connection With Stabbing Of Boston Man In Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE (CBS) – Two men are under arrest on charges connected to the stabbing of a Boston man early Saturday morning.

Just after 2 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to an assault involving a large group of men in Central Square, Cambridge police said.

Officers arrived to find a man with a small puncture wound in his lower back. The victim pointed to a vehicle trying to leave a municipal garage and police stopped it.

One of the vehicle's passengers was identified as the man's attacker, police said. The passenger, Sean Hunter, 20, of Roxbury, was placed under arrest and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Police said that during the investigation, a garage manager alerted them to a second vehicle that was trying to leave. The driver refused officers orders to stop and then nearly hit one of the officers before stopping, police said.

Police arrested the driver, Zikeem Ward, 21, of Boston, on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon/motor vehicle, two counts of failure to stop for police, resisting arrest, and carrying a dangerous weapon while disturbing the peace.

Cambridge police said two box cutters were found in Ward's pockets.

The investigation into the incident is continuing. Cambridge police ask anyone with additional information to contact them at 617-349-3300.
