NEWTON (CBS) – An area of Newton was shut down for much of Wednesday after a major water main break on Needham Street.
The break shut down part of Needham Street to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. A number of businesses were forced to close as well.
Crews located the leak and were able to dig up the road and repair the pipe.
The work caused major delays in the area. The road has since been reopened, but crews are expected to be working in the area until Thursday morning.
Officials did not indicate what caused the leak.
