Smart, Young On Celtics' Summer League Roster

BOSTON (CBS) -- If you want to catch and early look at the young talent on the Boston Celtics, you only have to wait a few more days.

The Boston Celtics announced their roster for the 2014 Orlando Pro Summer League, and it will include both of their recent first-round picks.

Marcus Smart and James Young will join current Celtics Kelly Olynyk, Phil Pressey, Chris Johnson and Chris Babb as members of Boston's summer league team. Colton Iverson, Boston's 2013 second-round pick who played last season in Europe, and European veterans O.D. Anosike, Dairis Bertans, Edwin Jackson and rookie free agents Mike Moser, Devin Oliver and Daniel Coursey will also play for Boston.

The Celtics begin their five-game Summer league schedule on Saturday, July 5 at 11 a.m. when they take on the Miami Heat. The Celtics' schedule in Orlando continues with match-ups against the Indiana Pacers on July 7 at 3 p.m., the Detroit Pistons on July 9 at 7 p.m., and the Orlando Magic on July 10 at 5 p.m..

The final game is TBD on Friday July 11 and will be determined by the league standings. Under the format, each team will play five games over the seven-day event, with a championship day being played on the final day of the league.

The summer league has proven valuable for the Celtics recently. Olynyk, who Boston selected 13th overall in 2013, put up some impressive numbers last year, averaging 18 points and 7.8 rebounds over Boston's five games, shooting 58 percent from the floor. In 2012, first-round pick Jared Sullinger averaged 13.8 points and 8.3 rebounds.

Celtics assistant Jay Larranaga will once again coach the team.
