Jenny Dell Joins CBS' NFL Coverage As Sideline Reporter

BOSTON (CBS) -- Jenny Dell is going national.

Dell will join CBS' NFL broadcast team as a sideline reporter, the network announced on Tuesday.

The former Red Sox sideline reporter for NESN officially left the company at the end of May. She had been removed from the Red Sox job after publicly announcing that she was dating third baseman Will Middlebrooks. Dell filled in as a reporter/anchor on "NESN Sports Today" in 2014 before leaving NESN.

"After an incredible 2 years at @NESN, it's time to say goodbye," she tweeted on May 29. "Many thanks to the whole #NESN cast & crew. Appreciate the love & support!"

On Tuesday, she retweeted CBS Sports' official news release.

"Excited to announce that I will be joining the @NFLonCBS family this year!" Dell tweeted. "Dream come true!"

Dell is a native of Connecticut and a graduate of UMass Amherst. She worked at ESPN prior to joining NESN in 2012.
