DERRY, NH (CBS) – A teacher at a New Hampshire prep school has been arrested on charges of touching a student inappropriately.

Police said David W. Howes, 61, of Windham, N.H., turned himself Tuesday at the Derry Police Department on an arrest warrant charging him with five counts of simple assault.

Howes allegedly inappropriately touched a 15 year old female Pinkerton Academy student while she was in his classroom.

Police said the incident is alleged to have taken place May 22 after school had ended for the day.

Howes was released on $10,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned June 19.
