The elderly couple who lived there pulled their car in behind the SUV, and not realizing their home was being burglarized, they went inside.

Police say the elderly man found Martel in the bedroom holding a pillow case full of jewelry, and yelled to his wife to call 911.

The burglar took off for the driveway, only to find his SUV boxed in and the homeowner following him.

Officials say Martel managed to steal the couple’s car after a brief struggle with the man who lived there.
