Report: Patriots Re-Sign Ryan Wendell

BOSTON (CBS) - The man responsible for protecting Tom Brady up the middle will be tasked with that assignment for at least another two years.

In an offseason where the Patriots addressed the defensive secondary and wide receiver group, the next area of need deemed by many was solidifying the offensive line.

Given Tom Brady's age, 36, and limited mobility, protecting him in the latter stages of his career - especially up the middle - will be imperative. And in an offseason where the team lost longtime assistant Dante Scarnecchia to retirement, continuity in that unit is of utmost importance.

The contract is a two-year deal worth up to $8.15 million, Field Yates provided some details of the signing on Twitter:
