Poulin is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, unlicensed possession of a firearm, and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

A second suspect in the slaying, Domingo Mendes, 22, of Belmont, is wanted on charges of murder, possession of a firearm, and conspiracy to violate drug laws. He is described as a black male, 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 165 pounds.

The district attorney’s office described Mendes as armed and dangerous.

Zanco was shot and killed in the parking lot of a Waltham apartment complex on Middlesex Circle.
