Gov. Patrick To Attend Governors' Meeting In DC

BOSTON (AP) — Gov. Deval Patrick is heading to Washington to participate in a two-day National Governors Association winter meeting.

On Sunday, Patrick is scheduled to participate in an education and workforce committee, including meeting with U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan to discuss early childhood education issues.

Later on Sunday Patrick will meet with Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx and Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz before attending the NGA's dinner at the White House with President Barack Obama, first lady Michelle Obama and other governors.

On Monday, Patrick will join other governors for a meeting with the president, first lady and Vice President Joe Biden to discuss ongoing state and federal issues.

Later on Monday Patrick will meet with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson.
