Massport: Snow Storm Affecting Flights In Boston

BOSTON (AP) — Massachusetts Ports Authority officials are urging travelers to check with their airlines before heading to Logan International Airport in Boston after the latest winter storm triggered slew of flight cancellations.

The National Weather Service said eastern Massachusetts will bear the brunt of the storm, with 10 to 14 inches of snow. The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency says the snow will dump snow at the rate of up to 4 inches per hour.

Massport said on Saturday that airlines are cancelling flights ahead of the storm and delays are likely.

The airport operator says most domestic airlines will have limited operations at Logan Saturday evening and night. Most international flights are expected to operate.

A Massport spokesman did not immediately provide information on the number of flights that were cancelled Saturday.
