Wegmans Announces Opening Of Chestnut Hill Store

NEWTON (CBS) --- Popular grocery store chain Wegmans has announced an opening date for its second Massachusetts store.

Wegmans Chestnut Hill will open April 27. A second-level 10,500 square foot wine, beer and spirit shop, will open on March 29.

The first Wegmans in Massachusetts opened in Northboro in 2011. Thousands of shoppers showed up for its grand opening.

The store, which is ranked as one of the top companies to work for across the country, also offers a gigantic assortment of alcohol: some 600 different beers and 1,500 different wine labels.

Wegmans, which has 83 stores in five other states, has plans to open other Massachusetts locations at Fenway's Landmark Center, Burlington and Westwood.
