Police: Framingham Woman Took Cab From NYC, Refused To Pay $1K Fare

FRAMINGHAM (CBS) - A Framingham woman is facing larceny charges for allegedly skipping out on cab fare that totaled close to $1,000.

Investigators say Denise Rebelato took a cab from JFK Airport in New York to her home, running up a fare of $980.

After arriving home, the 31-year old allegedly told the driver she didn't have the money to pay.

Police were called and she was arrested.

Rebelato was arraigned on Friday. The judge agreed that the charges will be dropped if she settles the fare within 60 days.

The judge in the case also openly questioned why Rebelato didn't take a bus.
