Black NHL Legend O'Ree To Visit Milton Rink On Saturday
BOSTON (CBS) - He's considered the Jackie Robinson of hockey. Willie O'Ree broke the color barrier when he made his NHL debut for the Bruins in 1958.
Now, the Canada native is an ambassador for the NHL in promoting diversity, and works with "Score Boston" to provide inner city youth with the opportunity to play hockey.
Saturday morning, he'll be at the Ulin ice rink in Milton from 8:30 to 11 a.m. to speak with kids about being black and playing hockey.
O'Ree spoke with WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Suzanne Sausville.
