Abington Encourages Crowds To Show Up To Honor Fallen Marine
ABINGTON (CBS) - The town of Abington is encouraging people to come out in masses to honor a fallen Marine.
Sgt. Daniel Vasselian, 27, was killed in Afghanistan earlier this week. His remains are expected to return to Massachusetts on December 31.
"As a town, we are asking that everyone that can come out will come out and line the streets when his procession passes by," town officials said in an email.
Sgt. Vasselian's remains are expected to arrive in Abington between 10:45 a.m and 11:30 a.m.
He will be driven past his family home on Adams Street and proceed to the Quealy Funeral Home at 116 Adams Street.
Anyone wishing to hold a flag during the procession should be able to pick one up at the Abington Police Department or the Abington Fire Department ahead of time.
