North Shore Firefighter Proposes To 'Mrs. Claus' In Downtown Rockport

ROCKPORT (CBS) --- Rowley residents Anneke Sharp and Eric Beaulieu had dressed up Sunday to visit the Den Mar Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and then attended a holiday children's party for the Rockport Fire Department.

After spreading holiday cheer, the couple thought it would be fun to pose in front of the town's holiday tree in Dock Square for some candid photos.

But what happened next, is a holiday memory Sharp will not soon forget.

Beaulieu, a Rockport and Newbury firefighter pulled out a ring and popped the question.

Sharp was completely surprised as Beaulieu put the ring on her finger, according to photographer Angela Cook, who captured the whole proposal.

Sharp and Beaulieu's "elves" had been hiding behind a tree to witness the engagement but made their way to the tree for a family picture.

Sharp, a bridal consultant at Swoons in Peabody, told the Gloucester Times, the Christmas season if her favorite time of year and isn't ruling out a holiday wedding.
