Ballot Question Would Mandate Nurse-To-Patient Ratios In Mass.
BOSTON (AP) — Supporters of a ballot question that would limit the number of patients who can be assigned to a nurse at one time are planning to deliver the final batch of signatures designed to put the question before voters next year.
Wednesday is the deadline for certified signatures to be delivered to Secretary of State William Galvin's office.
The Massachusetts Nurses Association said they've collected more than enough certified signatures to secure a place on the 2014 ballot.
The union is also pushing a second question that they said would require hospitals to be transparent about their financial holdings and limit CEO salaries.
Supporters of ballot questions that would raise the minimum wage, create a statewide earned sick time policy, and update the state's bottle deposit law delivered signatures to Galvin on Tuesday.
