No Bail For Sutton Man Charged With Beating Girlfriend To Death

SUTTON (CBS) --- A 49-year-old Sutton man is being held without bail, accused of beating his girlfriendto death over the weekend.

According to prosecutors, Thomas Starefos and Colleen Butler, 60, were driving home from dinner Saturday night when they got into a fight.

Once at their Torrey Road home, Starefos alleges Butler attacked him first.

Starefos then beat Butler to death, according to police.

Prosecutors said Starefos then waited 25 minutes and called other people, before calling 911.

Officer found Butler dead on the kitchen floor when they arrived and arrested Starefos.

He has been charged with manslaughter and domestic assault and battery.
