Daily Talker: SeaWorld's Parade Float Controversy

One of the floats in this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is drawing controversy days before the parade even starts. SeaWorld's "A Sea of Surprises" float features penguins, kelp and whales.

Animal rights activists say the float is part of a crisis management plan after a documentary from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals accused the theme park of mistreating killer whales, and should not be allowed in the parade. "SeaWorld is nothing more than a cruel prison for animals," said spokeswoman Lindsey Wright.

SeaWorld says the accusations are unfounded. In a statement, Macy's says it is keeping the float in, saying the parade does not take part in social commentary or political debate.

Do you support PETA's stance against SeaWorld's float, or is Macy's right by choosing to keep the float in the parade? Share your comments below.
