Suspect In Roxbury Murder Case Arrested

BOSTON (CBS) -- A Brockton man has been arrested in a fatal Roxbury shooting in July, the Boston Police Department reported.

The Youth Violence Strike Force and Brockton Police Department arrested Elosko Brown, 27, of Brockton on Sunday morning for the killing of Joseph Morante of Revere, the police said in a prepared statement. Brown is set to be arraigned Monday in Roxbury District Court.

At about 1:29 p.m. July 31, officers were dispatched to investigate reports of a man shot near 1053 Tremont St. in Roxbury.

When the officers arrived, they found Morante suffering from an apparent gun shot wound. The 19-year-old was taken to Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Homicide detectives are investigating the facts and circumstances of the killing. Anyone with information about the case can call detectives at 617-343-4470.
