Fans Paying Hefty Price Tag For World Series Game 6 Tickets

BOSTON (CBS) ---- Ticket prices for Game 6 of the World Series are rising rapidly and are factoring into fans' decisions of which seats to purchase.

Jim Holzman, the CEO of Ace Ticket, said it will cost a lot - upwards of $900 - to see Wednesday's potential series clinching game.

"Yesterday you could have gotten a seat for $600. Today its $900," Holzman told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Ben Parker.

The most expensive seats are behind the Red Sox dugout, box seats selling at $5,000 a piece.

"It really is going to be a situation for the first time, that I believe we're actually going to run out of inventory. I think demand is going to surpass supply," Holzmann said.

Holzmann advises fans who want to pay less to purchase tickets for the tentative Game 7, which would take place in Fenway Park on Thursday, to start shopping now.

"You can buy a ticket for $700," Holzmann said. "No charge if the game's not played. If the Red Sox lose tomorrow night, that ticket will go to $1,000."
