James Taylor Starts National Anthem With 'America The Beautiful' Lyrics

BOSTON (CBS) - James Taylor sang the National Anthem before Game Two of the World Series at Fenway Park Thursday night, but for a moment he seemed to lose his place.

As he began playing his guitar to start "The Star-Spangled Banner," Taylor sang "Oh beautiful… Oh say can you see."

It was a pretty quick recovery, so seamless that it wasn't really clear whether Taylor meant to do that or just forgot he wasn't supposed to sing "America the Beautiful" until the seventh inning stretch.

In the seventh inning, Taylor was joined on the field by victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.

"I think everyone in Boston felt they wanted to pull together and overcome and that's been the feeling for many months here," Taylor told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Ben Parker.
