Gov. Patrick Proclaims October 12 Is Lobster Day In Mass.
BOSTON (CBS) - Governor Patrick has declared Saturday, October 12, 2013 Lobster Day in Massachusetts.
The official proclamation was issued to honor the the industry that brings in an estimated $250 million each year to the state's economy.
According to the proclamation, lobsters are the state's most valuable single marine species.

In 2012, Massachusetts fishermen hauled in more than 14.5 million pounds of lobster.
