Driver Rescued From Submerged Truck In Lunenburg

LUNENBURG (CBS) - Dive teams managed to rescue a driver whose truck plunged into Lake Whalom in Lunenburg on Tuesday morning.

Officials say the driver, who has not been identified, was backing out of a parking spot when the truck hit a parked car, crashed through a fence and wound up in the water.

The truck sank, but rescuers managed to pull the driver from the submerged vehicle. He was conscious when he was pulled from the water.

The victim was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. There is no word on the driver's condition.

A crane eventually removed the truck from the water.
