L.L. Bean Giving Away Limited Edition Boots Made From Fenway Tarp
BOSTON (CBS) - L.L. Bean is holding a unique giveaway that's sure to catch the attention of Red Sox fans.
The company announced it will make 100 pairs of limited edition boots that will incorporate material made from the rain delay tarp that covered the Fenway Park infield during its 100th anniversary in 2012.
The Fenway Bean Boots will not be sold in stores.
Half of the boots will be given away as part of a contest on L.L. Bean's Facebook page, where fans will be asked to share their favorite Fenway moment.
The other half will be given out on college campuses in the area.
The boots will all be custom-made to fit the contest winners.
The Fenway Bean Boots aren't the first L.L.Bean product to incorporate the Fenway tarp.
Last month, the company quickly sold out of a limited edition tote bag that was made from the tarp.
All of the profits from the tote bag sales - $114,000 - went to One Fund Boston.
