Vince Wilfork's Wife Tweets Photo Of Lineman After 'Successful Surgery'

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Patriots have still not made any announcement about Vince Wilfork's status for the rest of the season, though multiple reports have said the defensive lineman's season is over after suffering a torn Achilles Sunday night.

While it hasn't yet been confirmed publicly, Wilfork's wife did share some news regarding her husband, posting a photo of Wilfork after undergoing "successful surgery" on Tuesday.

Wilfork suffered the injury on a non-contact play in the first quarter against the Falcons. He went down to the turf and was helped off the field, getting carted to the locker room minutes later.

Wilfork, 31, is in his 10th season with the Patriots and his sixth serving as a defensive captain.

Wilfork has played in 142 of 148 games in his career, so his absence will be something new for the Patriots' defense to deal with.

Later, Vince released a statement thanking fans for their support.
