Suspect In Custody In Connection With East Boston Assault On Child

BOSTON (CBS) --- Boston Police have a person in custody in connection with an assault on a young child Friday.

The department announced the development on their Twitter feed Sunday morning but did not release the suspect's name.

Boston Police issued a community alert after a young child was indecently assaulted on Friday evening.

The attack happened near Waldemar Avenue in East Boston around 6:45 p.m.

Police say witnesses saw the man was in the area for a while before the attack.

They did not indicate whether the victim was injured.
