Mother Delivers Twins At West Bridgewater Home

WEST BRIDGEWATER (CBS) - Meredith Anderson is smiling today but it was no laughing matter when she unexpectedly gave birth to twins inside her West Bridgewater home.

"I went into the bathroom and had a baby," Meredith laughed. Using her cell phone she managed to call 911. "He had his eyes wide open moving his hands. I told police I just had a baby I don't know what to do now and I have another one on the way," Meredith said.

Meredith's husband Shawn came racing home from work. "I opened up the door and I see her holding Craig, and I said oh boy!" Shawn Anderson said as he ran into his garage. "I just ran away saying I can't handle this," Shawn said.

Moments later police and firefighters arrived and assisted with the second baby. "The fire and police departments did a fantastic job keep both of us calm, " Shawn said.

Both Craig and Cody Anderson are doing well. They are at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Saint Elizabeth Medical Center in Brighton. Craig is 3lbs 4oz and Cody is 3lb 3oz. "Everything worked out how it was supposed to work and I thank God for that," Meredith said.
