Local UFC fans rejoice!

The Ultimate Fighting Championship is heading back to Boston’s TD Garden on August 17 with a great card — the evening’s main card features Chael Sonnen taking on Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.

Sonnen dropped by the 98.5 The Sports Hub studios on Thursday to hang out with Toucher & Rich and discuss the upcoming fight in August.

“Rua seems like a really great guy. He’s one of the few legends that are still fighting, and anytime you get old and you retire from the sport there’s been an instant assignment of legend status,” said Sonnen. “He truly is a legend; I admire him, I admire what he’s done in the ring. He’s not me, but he is very good.”

They went on to discuss Anderson Silva, Chris Weidman and how age plays a factor in this sport. Sometimes age and experience can be a positive thing in a fight, but younger guys sometimes have newer or different techniques.

They also discussed an incident where LeBron James made comments that Sonnen didn’t like. The guys also took calls from fans and Adolfo showed off some of his Jeet Kune Do moves.
