Foot Injury Ends Andrew Miller's Season With Red Sox
BOSTON (CBS) -- Red Sox reliever Andrew Miller will require season-ending surgery after injuring his left foot in a game against the Angels in Anaheim, according to Boston manager John Farrell.
The left-hander needs to have surgery to repair a damaged ligament in his left foot, Farrell said.
Miller was injured in the Red Sox' 9-7 loss to the Angels on Saturday. He was injured when he turned awkwardly on his left foot when a ball was hit back toward the mound. The reliever fell to the ground grimacing in pain.
The loss of Miller leaves Craig Breslow as the only left-hander in Boston's bullpen.
