Jarome Iginla Agrees To 1-Year Deal With Boston Bruins

BOSTON (CBS) - Jarome Iginla is coming to Boston.

As first reported by TSN's Bob McKenzie, the free agent has accepted an offer from the Bruins.

According to the Bruins, Iginla's base salary is worth $1.8 million and carries incentives of $4.2 million, putting his salary cap figure at $6 million.

Iginla was the centerpiece of a trade with Calgary that fell apart back in March because he reportedly vetoed it.

Iginla ended up going to the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Bruins swept the Penguins in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Iginla, 36, spent his entire 16-year career with the Calgary Flames before playing a shortened half-season with the Penguins. He's scored 530 goals with 576 assists in 1,232 career games.

In the postseason, the NHL veteran has skated in 69 playoff games with 32 goals and 29 assists for 61 points.

He played in 15 postseason games with the Penguins this season and had four goals and eight assists.
