Five-Year-Old Rescued After Nearly Drowning In Lowell Pool

LOWELL (CBS) - A five-year-old boy was hospitalized Thursday after being rescued from a swimming pool in Lowell.

Two lifeguards and a nurse pulled the child from Raymond Lloyd Memorial pool.

It's not clear how long the boy was beneath the surface of the water, but DCR officials believe it was a very short time.

A lifeguard spotted the child on the bottom of the pool and implemented emergency procedures.

Police have not released the boy's name. They say he's being held at an area hospital overnight for observation, but is expected to be okay.
