NH's The Page Bar And Restaurant To Close After Beating Death
PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) — Police say a New Hampshire bar that was the scene of a dance-floor beating of a man who later died is
closing for good.
Zachary O'Neill of Dover has been charged with first-degree assault in the beating of 24-year-old Josh Krantz of Dover at The Page Restaurant in Portsmouth.
Krantz died April 6, hours after he was beaten. His skull had been fractured.
Police Chief Stephen DuBois said Monday the closure is a direct result of a petition authorized by the Portsmouth City Council to end The Page's liquor license, which expired May 31.
DuBois said the closing was achieved through a settlement between the city and New Adventure Entertainment LLC, which owns The Page. It avoids a hearing on the petition.
